Relato de intercâmbio de estudantes holandesas na FO-UFPel

A Faculdade de Odontologia da Universidade Federal de Pelotas (FO-UFPel) recebeu, entre março e julho de 2026, as estudantes Mariëtte van den Elsen e Indy Tünnissen, da Radboud University Nijmegen, da Holanda, para uma experiência de intercâmbio acadêmico. Ao final da experiência, as estudantes compartilharam seu relato sobre o período vivido na FO:

"Studying dentistry on the other side of the world was an unforgettable adventure. From March to July 2026, we, Mariëtte van den Elsen and Indy Tünnissen from Radboud University Nijmegen, had the incredible opportunity to study at the Universidade Federal de Pelotas.
During our time here, we experienced a unique blend of academic development and cultural immersion. We participated in courses like Journalology, observed practical sessions in Oral Pathology and Surgery, and learned some Portuguese. A major highlight was our Estágio em Saúde Bucal at a UBS clinic, where we gained fascinating insights into Brazil’s public healthcare system and even taught toothbrushing classes at a local school. We also explored private dentistry with local specialists and fully integrated into student life by joining the wonderful academic athletic association and local sports clubs.
Looking back, we feel overwhelming gratitude. The academic experiences gave us valuable new perspectives, but living among the Brazilian people, making close friends and sharing countless memories, made this exchange truly special. A special thanks goes out to all our professors and mentors for their warm guidance.
