On Thursday 18 November 2021, on the occasion of World Philosophy Day 2021, UNESCO is organizing the global online event Philosophy Around the World – Worldwide Philosophical Relay-Race will be held from 7:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. BRT(Brasília Time Zone) to celebrate philosophy in all parts of our planet with the overall theme of intercultural philosophy for peace and sustainability in the time of crisis. It will comprise two plenary opening and closing sessions and five regional webinars organized in all UNESCO’s regions – Africa, Arab States, Asia and the Pacific, Europe/North America and Latin America and the Caribbean.
UFPel Professor, Jovino Pizzi, was invited as a guest speaker for the Latin America and the Caribbean panel. Professor Pizzi currently coordinates the UFPel CAPES PrInt international cooperation project “Global Observatory of Social Pathologies”. The Latin America and Caribbean Regional Webinar will take place from 2:00 to 3:30 p.m. BRT and will debate about Philosophy in Times of Social Crisis. The event will be held on Zoom Platform and participants are required to register in order to access the event’s room.
