Research Laboratory in Oral Microbiology
This laboratory is located in the Faculty of Dentistry of UFPel and is coordinated by Professor Rafael Guerra Lund. His research group develops projects related to phytotherapics and natural products, synthetic compounds, semi-synthetic materials and their effect on oral microorganisms.
Infrastructure and equipment: The laboratory is equipped for the development of planktonic and biofilm models, and relevant analyses, with aerobic and microaerophilic incubators, Class 2b biosafety hood, reagents and consumables as culture media, light microscopes, magnifier stereoscopic, pH meters, ion analyzers, water bath, Politriz machine, refrigerators, stoves, autoclaves, water distiller, computers, printers, 96-well microplate reader 400-700NM, UV/Visible light cuvette spectrophotometer, Vitek 2 automated system of phenotypic identification of microorganisms and antimicrobial resistance, sonicator apparatus, temperature controlled shaker apparatus (incubation) and exhaust hood for chemicals.
