Laboratory of Neurochemistry, Inflammation and Cancer (Neurocan)
The Neurocan laboratories are located in building 29 of the CCQFA at Capão do Leão Campus, UFPel, and are coordinated by professors Roselia Maria Spanevello, Giana de Paula Cognato and Giovana Duzzo Gamaro. The group develops research related to alterations in purinergic and cholinergic signaling and oxidative stress in pathophysiological situations including experimental neurological, inflammatory and cancer models.
Infrastructure and Equipment: Neurocan has two air-conditioned rooms with various devices and equipment, including refrigerated centrifuges, non-refrigerated centrifuges, water baths, spectrophotometers, refrigerators, vortexes, microscopes, nitrogen gallon, exhaust hoods, freezers, thermocyclers, analytical balance, automatic pipettors, magnetic stirrers, stereotaxic and infusion pump, stove, system for electrophoresis, microscope among other equipment. It also has furniture suitable for the correct storage of reagents and glassware. In addition, one of the rooms has an air-conditioned space for for students, with tables for personal computers with internet access and a closet with individual doors.
