Scientific Methodology: 2 credits (34 hours) – Code: 1658025
Syllabus: The discipline of scientific methodology aims to provide the student with basic theoretical knowledge in methodology of scientific research, enabling the student to elaborate a research project in a systematic way and with methodological rigor. Provide a theoretical basis for how to systematically carry out: a literature review, a critical reading of the selected articles, prepare an analytical-critical summary of the articles and archive this information; to enable the discernment and the capacity to elaborate different types of scientific research; to increase knowledge of methodological and ethical implications in research; provide basic elements that make it possible to clearly establish the theme, problem and hypotheses of scientific research; enable them to carry out a research design and properly design a research project.

Seminars I: 2 credits (34 hours) – Code: D000385
Syllabus: In the discipline of Seminars I, students will participate as listeners in weekly seminars given by professors or post-graduates of UFPel and other institutions. The subject to be addressed in each seminar will be mainly related to the researcher’s line of research. In addition, this course will address topics related to ethics, which will be taught by professionals in the area.

Seminars II: 2 credits (34 hours) – Code: D000398
Syllabus: In this course the students must give seminars. Each student will present at least one seminar that will deal with current and relevant topics in the area of their dissertation project, with an interdisciplinary approach. Each seminar should last from 40 to 50 minutes and its evaluation will be by an examination board defined by the Collegiate.
