Multi-user Rooms
- Biochemistry Multiuser Space
Total area: (40 m2)
It consists of a space where a variety of devices and equipment of common use of the PPGBBio advisors is allocated. Among this equipment are two ultra-freezers ( - 80 ºC), a water distiller, an ice machine, an Elisa plate reader, two drying stoves, a UV-Visible spectrophotometer and a freeze dryer.
- Applied Chromatography Center
Total area: (50 m2)
This room is located in the Building 32 of the CCQFA, Campão Capão do Leão/UFPel, where a large number of equipment are allocated, such as 02 Gas Chromatographs (CG FID), 01 Gas Chromatograph Coupled to the Mass Spectrometer, 01 High Efficiency Liquid Gas Chromatograph and 01 infra-red spectrometer. This room also has more equipment such as, a laminar flow hood, a drying oven, two bacteriological stoves and an analytical balance.
- Center of Instrumental Analises
Total area: (50 m2)
The Center of Instrumental Analises, located in Building 32 - Campão Capão do Leão/UFPel, is a multiuser space that has equipment such as: X-ray diffractometer, Shimadzu model XRD-6000, with low angle probe used in the characterization of thin films, Spectrometer Shimadzu Model EDX-720, Gas Chromatograph, Shimadzu Model GC-2014 Coupled to a reaction valve to the reaction line, Particle Analyzer and Granulometer model CILAS 1064, Quantachrome Thermoprogrammed Reduction Equipment CHEMBET 3000 TPR/TPD, Quantachrome Autosorb-1-MP BET Area Analyzer, obtained by means of the FINEP project, CT-PETRO public announcement, in partnership with the private initiative, specifically the ISATEC Research, Development and Chemical Analysis LTDA of the IPIRANGA S/A (Private Sector Company) group located in the south region/RS. It also has a laminar flow hood used in the preparation of thin films with the aid of a Spin Coating apparatus, high energy grinding mill, Netzsch model PE 075, 4 thermo-programmed tubular furnaces, coupled to gas lines for catalytic tests and reaction lines and ocular microscope with image capture.
- Animal experiment facility (Vivarium) (http://bioterio.ufpel.edu.br/index.htm)
UFPel has an experimental animal hospital located in Building 20 at Capão do Leão Campus. This place is responsible for the supply of animals (rats, mice and hamsters) to carry out PPGBBio research. The vivarium has a broad physical structure, with a cleaning room, a breeding room and experiment rooms, which are extremely suitable for the development of research as well as handling and animal welfare throughout the experimental period.
