In October, the city of Laramie, Wyoming (USA), held the “2018 High Plains Nutrition and Managing Round table”, an event dealing with the optimizing of herd productivity. In addition to the round table, the event program offered an award for the graduate students presenting research works related to nutrition and management of beef cattle. The student Claudia Demarco, advised by Professor Cássio Brauner, from the Graduate Program in Animal Science and member of the Research and Extension Center in Livestock at UFPel, won third place. Cláudia is a sandwich PhD program at the University of Wyoming. At the event, the student presented data from the work entitled “In vitro gas production of sweet potato flour used as replacement for ground corn feed”, co-authored by Marilisa Mibach, Fabian Guerrero, Claudio Pozo, Lisandre de Oliveira, Gilberto Vilmar Kozloski, Marcio Nunes Corrêa, Cássio Cassal Brauner and Scott Lake.
