The Alliances for Education and Training Program (Brazil Scholarships – PAEC OAS-GCUB) is the result of cooperation between the Organization of American States (OAS), the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO / WHO) and the Coimbra Group of Brazilian Universities (GCUB), with the support of the Division of Educational Themes of the Brazilian Ministry of Foreign Relations (DCE / MRE).
Launched in 2011, the Program is one of the most important regional cooperation initiatives in the educational field for the development of Latin America and the Caribbean. Its main objective is to contribute to the regional integration and strengthening of the Americas through the granting of scholarships.
Students with high academic level, leadership trajectory and high impact potential are selected in their countries of origin. These professionals experience scientific and cultural exchange through academic mobility and return to their countries of origin with the mission of contributing to the socioeconomic development of the society in which they operate.
- Scholarships offered by Brazilian universities in the amount of R$ 1,500.00 for Master students and R$ 2,200.00 for PhD students;
- $ 1,200 installation grant paid by the OAS to the top 150 placed in the selection process;
- Exemption from academic fees;
- Portuguese course for foreigners offered by Brazilian universities.
