UFPel announces noncompulsory use of masks

The Federal University of Pelotas this Monday (29), announces noncompulsory use of masks within the institution’s facilities. Therefore, despite being recommended, it is no longer mandatory to have your mask on to pass through the corridors or even attend classes.

The Covid-19 Committee made the decision at last Friday’s (25) meeting in sight of news from the World Health Organization (WHO), the Ministry of Education (MEC-Brasil) and the Municipal Health Department of Pelotas that had already updated their manners of confrontating the new pandemic scenary. The University also included some recommendations on the publication, such as:

  • constantly sanitize your hands;
  • when coughing or sneezing, move away and cover your face;
  • do not hug, shake hands or have close contact with other people;
  • bring your own water bottle;
  • do not share objects of personal use;
  • maintain room ventilation through open windows and doors.
