Note of condolence – Professor Luiz Antônio Machado Veríssimo

It is with great sadness that the Behavioral Studies Laboratory shares the death note of our great friend and colleague Professor Luiz Antônio Machado Veríssimo, architect and urban planner on November 6, 2021. Veríssimo as he was known by the entire Pelotas community leaves us a immense legacy of knowledge, culture and friendship. We will miss him very much, his friendship, his welcoming smile, but we are sure he will be alive with us in our memories, in the corridors of the Faculty of Architecture and Urbanism, in classrooms, on walks around the city. The memories remain and Veríssimo is part of every corner of the urban imagination of our Pelotas, in the classrooms of the UFPel, UCPel and Furg universities. Our eternal thanks for coming to this difficult world to bring us a breath, a smile, culture, knowledge and above all true friendship. May the body rest in peace and the spirit and brilliant mind continue on their path of happiness, joy, travel and friendship. Thank you for everything. The Faculty of Architecture and Urbanism of the Federal University of Pelotas, along with LabCom, is in mourning for seven days.

After a short academic break, we returned with full energy. On August 13, 2021, at 4 pm, via GoogleMeet, we will be waiting for you at our first Cafe meeting of the 2021/2 semester. Fatphobia and Tourism will be the topic debated by the academic of the Tourism course at the Federal University of Pelotas, Amanda Machado Bonini. Our guest researches the difficulties women face when travelling due to fatphobia ingrained in our society and also to the standards of the projects we design: is these problems caused by the body or by prejudice? She brings this question to the debate. We hope to all of you this Friday :))) The link can be requested by message.
