CELPE-Bras (Certificate of Proficiency in Portuguese for Foreigners) is the only certificate of proficiency in Brazilian Portuguese as a second language officially recognized by the Brazilian Authorities.

For the first time, Universidade Federal de Pelotas is going to be an applicator of the CELPE-Bras exam, which is going to take place  in the end of April in the University. The demand for the CELPE-Bras exam in UFPEL has risen in recent years due to the increase in the number of foreign students and professors in its Graduate and Undergraduate Programs. From now on, UFPEL will be able to apply these exam and to further the process of Portuguese Certification for its students.
