André has a BS in Chemistry from Universidade Estadual de Campinas (Unicamp, 2005) and a BA in Journalism from Pontifícia Universidade Católica de Campinas (PUCC, 2000). He obtained a Master´s degree working with Professor Fabio Augusto (Unicamp, 2008) in the field of Solid Phase Microextraction. His PhD thesis was obtained under the guidance of Professor Carlos Roque (Unicamp, 2013) working with palladium-catalyzed direct arylations employing aryldiazonium salts. He then moved to Porto Alegre as a post-doctoral fellow (Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul, UFRGS), where he explored palladium-catalyzed cross-coupling reactions. He was also a post-docotoral fellow at Pontifícia Universidade Católica do Rio Grande do Sul (PUCRS), working with medicinal chemistry. After a short period as professor at Universidade Federal do Pampa (Unipampa), he moved to Universidade Federal de Pelotas, where he is currently professor of General Chemistry.
