Associate Professor 4 at the Federal University of Pelotas and member of the National Institute of Advanced Analytical Sciences and Technologies (INCTAA). He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry from UEM, a Master’s degree in Analytical Chemistry from UFSC, a PhD in Analytical Chemistry from UNICAMP, and a Post-Doctorate in Analytical Chemistry from UFSC, NRC of Canada and PUC-Rio. He is currently the Coordinator of the Chemistry Area at the Center for Chemical, Pharmaceutical and Food Sciences. He was Regional Secretary of the Brazilian Chemical Society in Rio Grande do Sul from 2020 to 2024 and Coordinator of the Postgraduate Program in Chemistry from 2011 to 2013. He is a professor in the area of ​​Analytical Chemistry at the Undergraduate and Postgraduate levels, working in research lines with studies aimed at food analysis to determine the total concentration, bioaccessible and bioavailable fraction of essential and potentially toxic elements, carrying out studies of sample preparation, instrumentation, chemical and photochemical vapor generation and chemical metrology by atomic spectrometry techniques (FAAS, GF AAS and MIP OES). He supervised and co-supervised 21 Master’s Dissertations, 14 Doctoral Theses, 26 Scientific Initiation students and 10 Undergraduate Course Conclusion Papers and supervised 4 postdoctoral students. He has an H Factor of 22 and has published almost a hundred full articles in journals.
