After a few years without an academic week, the Faculty of Architecture and Urbanism resumes its activities and arrives with several novelties. The 1st Symposium on the Right to the City will take place along with the academic week, on March 7th and 9th, which aims to involve future generations to fight for access to the most diverse means and basic infrastructure that is a human right.
The idea for the Symposium came into contact with UFPel’s Faculty of Architecture and Urbanism (FAUrb) through the Kilombo Urbano Ocupação Canto de Construção in the city of Pelotas, which aims to plan the Congress on the Right to the City. During meetings, it was established that after the Symposium, pre-Congresses will be held in each neighborhood of the city and in July 2023 there will be the Congress on the Right to the City in the Public Market square in the week of the anniversary of the city of Pelotas.
