Paper Submission Guidelines

Deadline for submission of papers: 15th May to 1st October 2021.

Papers can be submitted and presented in Portuguese, English or Spanish in the categories below and always connected to a thematic section of the Congress. Each registrant can submit one work as the first author in each category.

1. For paper submission – oral presentation, an expanded abstract of 1500 to 2000 words (not including bibliographic references) must be submitted through the Submission Form. The work must be linked to one of the Congress’ Thematic Lines. The paper must be submitted using TEMPLATE 1 and attached to the Submission Form as a PDF file.

After the event, participants will be invited to submit the full article of their work for the special edition of the academic journal PIXO: https://periodicos.ufpel.edu.br/ojs2/index.php/pixo

2. For paper submission – poster participation, a 500-word abstract (not including bibliographic references) and the poster (with the format described below) must be submitted using the Submission Form. The work must be linked to one of the Congress´ Thematic sections. The abstract must be submitted using TEMPLATE 2 and attached to the submission form as a PDF file.

The poster must be size A1, and contain the event logo, title identical to the submitted abstract, names and addresses (department/email) of the authors, introduction, objectives, material and methods, results and discussion, conclusions and bibliographical references. The sponsoring institution should be informed, if any, be clear, use few texts and as many figures, photos, tables and graphic resources as possible, organize the information so that the central ideas of the work are easily understood. The poster must be attached to the Submission Form as a PDF file.

3. For short film submission, such as audiovisual production, must meet the following technical and content criteria: (i) duration of up to 8 minutes; (ii) minimum resolution of 480p; (iii) if any content is reproduced from other sources, identify authorship and attach a term for the copied material use, when applicable; and (iv) videos that, using tracks and images by other authors, give preference to materials under Creative Commons license and others that do not infringe copyright. Videos must be uploaded – via Google Drive or another content storage site – and the link made available on the Submission Form.

When submitting their audiovisual production, the authors are aware that: (i) a digital copy of the authorizations for the use of images of all their interviewees and those who participate in the videos must be attached to the Submission Form in PDF; (ii) all authors must sign and attach the authorization term for the assignment of rights to the Federal University of Pelotas, Brazil, for exhibition during the event and dissemination on the online platform, this should be attached to the Submission Form in PDF; (iii) no bonus will be offered to participants due to the presentation of these audiovisual products or their assignment for posting; (iv) the evaluation committee may approve the number of videos that it deems appropriate to the thematic sections, being able to reallocate the thematic for which work is approved. If any of the submission criteria or processes is not respected, the video will be disregarded from the evaluation.

All Abstracts will be published in the Congress Abstracts Book (only the papers presented will have their abstracts published).
