The Behavior Studies Laboratory (LabCom) of the Federal University of Pelotas promotes the Congress and supports all the activities of the event in a scientific and technical way. LabCom was created in 2016 within the Department of Architecture and Urbanism of the Faculty of Architecture and Urbanism at UFPel, based on the interest of a group of professors to carry out multidisciplinary research in the area of environmental psychology, architecture, urbanism, tourism, sociology and philosophy, with the objective of understanding how people perceive and behave in the city environment. The Project ‘Place-Making with Older People: Towards Age Friendly Communities‘, financed by the United Kingdom, by the British Agency ESRC (Economic and Social Research Council), and coordinated in Brazil by Professor Adriana Portella and in the UK by Professor Ryan Woolrych, was the starting point that instigated the creation of the Laboratory.
