School of Architecture and Urbanism

The Architecture and Urbanism Course was created immediately after the foundation of the Federal University of Pelotas. The first studies for its implantation date back to 1970. At that time, there were only two Architecture and Urbanism courses in the southern region of Brazil – in Porto Alegre and Curitiba – which contributed to the implementation of teaching in this area at the University. With the foundation the course of Architecture and Urbanism in 1978, UFPEL began to host the second course of Architecture in Rio Grande do Sul state.
