About the Venue: The Federal University of Santa Maria (UFSM) was the first federal university established in the interior, outside of a Brazilian capital, in December 1960. This fact marked a significant milestone in the process of expanding public university education across Brazil.
The Institute of Physics was later established in 1962 on the main campus. More recently, in the 2010 statute, UFSM established its academic units, including the Centro de Ciências Naturais e Exatas, where the event will take place.
Currently, UFSM has 2,060 faculty members and 2,550 educational staff who serve more than 26,000 students enrolled in over 270 programs.
The main campus is located in the heart of Rio Grande do Sul, in the city of Santa Maria, where an important hub for transportation, culture, and technology development is emerging, encompassing road and rail networks
