With great satisfaction, we announce that the XI Symposium on Ecology, Genetics, and Evolution of Drosophila (SEGED) will be held between 04 and 07 November 2019, in the city of Pelotas, RS, Brazil. SEGED traditionally brings together researchers and students who use Drosophila as a model in their studies. For the drosophilists, it is the main event in Brazil in the area for the dissemination of works, discussion of research, and for the establishment and consolidation of collaborations. SEGED had its first edition in 1999, being held at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro and, due to its success and importance, has been occurring every two years, without interruption.
