PhD in Science and Mathematics Education from PUCRS (2017). He holds a degree in Science (1987), in Chemistry (Bachelor’s and Licentiate, 1990) and a Master’s in Science and Mathematics Education (2013), all from PUCRS. He is currently a professor of Chemistry at the Instituto Federal Sul-rio-grandense – IFSul, Novo Hamburgo campus, where he is the postgraduate coordinator at the Specialization level. Permanent professor at the Graduate Program in Teaching Exact Sciences (PPGECE) at the Federal University of Rio Grande ? FURG, in which he works under the supervision of Master’s students. He is a Research Representative at the Novo Hamburgo Campus with the IFSul Research Steering Committee. He coordinated the 35th and 38th EDEQ – Meeting of Debates on Teaching Chemistry (2015 and 2018) and the 17th Brazilian Symposium on Chemical Education (2019). He has experience in the field of Chemistry Teaching since 1987, in high school. Evaluator of the Chemistry collections at the PNLD. Research along the lines of Teaching through Research, PIBID, public policies on Education and Teacher Training through Communities of Practice. He develops research projects in Social Sciences on the themes of learning in areas of social vulnerability and gender in professional technical education.
