New Policy Brief #16 “COP 28 and the impacts of Brazil’s renewable energy on climate risk mitigation” by Beatriz dos Santos Ferreira and Mônica Iha.

“What benefits can the commitment to reducing greenhouse gases bring to Brazil? The 28th Conference of the Parties on Climate Change took place in 2023 in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. Its theme was the acceleration of the energy transition, aiming to reduce greenhouse gas emissions in order to limit global warming. Brazil played an important role, as it reinforced its commitment to a sustainable future by being the host country of COP 30 in 2025.” (…)

 

🔻 Beatriz dos Santos Ferreira is a undergraduate student in Natural Sciences at the Federal University of South and Southeast of Pará (UNIFESSPA). He is currently a Research Associate at the IIGS, USA.
🔻 Mônica Iha holds a PhD in Human Geography from the University of São Paulo (USP) and is a Senior Research Fellow at the IIGS, USA.
