Rafael Vieira Kwiatkowski

Master's Student in Biotechnology at the Structural Genomics Laboratory

Rafael Vieira Kwiatkowski, a native of Santa Maria (RS), graduated in Medicine from the Catholic University of Pelotas in 2011. He completed his medical residency in General Surgery at the University Hospital of Santa Maria (HUSM) in 2014, and his residency in Oncological Surgery at the Santa Casa de Porto Alegre, in partnership with the Federal University of Health Sciences of Porto Alegre (UFCSPA), in 2017. He is a full member of the Brazilian Society of Oncological Surgery (SBCO). Between 2017 and 2019, he served as a preceptor for the Oncological Surgery residency program at Hospital do Rocio (HR/PR). He worked as an oncological surgeon at the Santa Casa do Rio Grande (RS) and currently works at the Santa Casa de São Gabriel (RS). He is part of the clinical staff as an oncological surgeon at CliniCanp, Santa Casa de Pelotas, Beneficência Portuguesa de Pelotas, Santa Casa de Porto Alegre, and Hospital Mãe de Deus in Porto Alegre. At the latter three institutions, he develops his practice using a robotic surgery platform, applying advanced minimally invasive techniques in the surgical treatment of neoplasms and endometriosis surgeries. He is dedicated to clinical and translational research in oncological surgery, is a founding partner of Clínica Ciclos (Pelotas/RS), and has scientific articles and papers presented and published in national and international specialized congresses and journals.
