Graduated in Chemistry-Licentiate (2007), Master’s in Science Education (2010) from UNIJUÍ and PhD in Scientific and Technological Education (2014) from UFSC. He is currently a professor at the Center for Chemical, Pharmaceutical and Food Sciences of the Federal University of Pelotas (UFPel), coordinator of the Degree in Chemistry and professor at the Graduate Program in Science and Mathematics Teaching and at the Graduate Program in UFPel Chemistry. He works mainly on the following topics: thematic approach, science teaching and learning, use of images and representations of submicroscopic particles, teacher training, historical-cultural approach, epistemology and science teaching.
