Abstract
This talk reviews the major activities in AV2 standardization and describes how Facebook has been contributing in these activities. AOM takes two-phase development for AV2 standardization – Research Phase (1-2 year) and Standardization Phase (0.5-2 year). AV2 is expected to be finalized in 2023 and to reach both the compression and the complexity goals. Currently we are at the 1st year of Research Phase and focus on refining process and creating momentum on coding tool research.
