Automatic License Plate Recognition: Challenges and Solutions
Wednesday, October 21st, 08:30 AM — 10:00 AM (GMT-3)
This presentation will be given in Portuguese.
Abstract
Automatic License Plate Recognition (ALPR) is a crucial task for several applications related to Intelligent Transportation Systems, from access control to large-scale traffic monitoring. Despite the existence of a large number of academic and commercial solutions, they typically focus on a specific scenario (e.g., toll control) or a single license plate (LP) region/layout (e.g., Brazilian, Chinese, etc.). This talk will discuss challenges for developing ALPR systems “in-the-wild”, as well as existing and potential solutions.
