Professor Gelson Perin holds a degree in Industrial Chemistry (1994), a Master’s degree in Chemistry (1996) and a PhD in Chemistry (2000) from the Federal University of Santa Maria. He is currently Associate Professor Level III – DE at the Federal University of Pelotas and member of the Chemistry Committee at the Fundação de Amparo à Pesquisa do Estado do Rio Grande do Sul – FAPERGS. He was a member of the Chemistry Committee at the Fundação de Amparo à Pesquisa do Estado do Rio Grande do Sul – FAPERGS between August 2013 and March 2015. He was a member of the Institutional Committee for Scientific and Technological Initiation Scholarships – UFPel between February 2013 and February de 2017. Has experience in the field of Chemistry, with emphasis on Organic Synthesis. He works mainly in the development of new synthetic methodologies using recyclable solid supports, microwaves and recyclable solvents to obtain organochalcogens.
