He holds a degree in Chemistry – Bachelor’s degree from the State University of Londrina (1991), a Master’s in Chemistry (Organic Synthesis) from the Federal University of Santa Maria (1994) and a PhD in Science – Organic Chemistry from the USP of Ribeirão Preto (1997). He held a postdoctoral degree at the Federal University of Santa Maria (2003-2004) and at the Università degli Studi di Perugia (2015-2016, CAPES-funded Senior Internship Program Scholarship). He is a full professor at the Federal University of Pelotas and teaches General Chemistry, Green Chemistry, Advanced Organic Chemistry and Organic Synthesis Projects for Chemistry courses. He was coordinator of the Graduate Program in Chemistry between March 2007 and August 2011 and a member of the FAPERGS Chemistry Advisory Committee between August 2006 and July 2009. He is an elected member of the International Advisory Board of the SeS Redox and Catalysis International Network , from the International Conference on the Chemistry of Selenium and Tellurium (ICCST) and Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry (FRSC). He has experience in the field of Chemistry, with an emphasis on Organic Synthesis, working mainly in green chemistry and synthesis of organochalcogen compounds.
