The Graduate Program in Philosophy, at the Doctoral level, in the area of Ethics and Political Philosophy, is organized as an integrated set of courses, aimed at enhancing the student’s previously acquired knowledge and enabling the development of studies and research according to the four research lines defined by the Program: Conceptions of Virtue; Foundation and Critique of Morality; Law, Society, and the State; and Moral Epistemology. The completion of the course requires the fulfillment of 40 (forty) credits for the Doctoral degree. The qualification for the Doctorate is conducted by the end of the fifth semester of the course. The maximum time for completion is 48 months, which can be extended, in exceptional cases, by an additional 6 months.
