A miss\u00e3o faz parte do projeto intitulado Pesquisa, Desenvolvimento Tecnol\u00f3gico e Inova\u00e7\u00e3o atrav\u00e9s de colabora\u00e7\u00f5es PPGBiotecnologia UFPel- Brasil e University of Illinois &#8211; USA em Biotecnologia do C\u00e2ncer, coordenado pelo professor Tiago Collares e financiado pela FAPERGS.\u00a0 O projeto aprovado em 2019 esteve suspenso em fun\u00e7\u00e3o da pandemia COVID-19 e foi retomado para avan\u00e7o das a\u00e7\u00f5es previstas.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">O presente projeto tem uma interface com os esfor\u00e7os iniciados em 2013 no desenvolvimento do modelo biol\u00f3gico Oncopig que teve sua origem nos Estados Unidos na University of Illinois com participa\u00e7\u00e3o do pesquisadores Brasileiros da UFPel. O desenvolvimento dos minipigs humanizado geneticamente para p53R172H e KRASG12D, possibilita o estudo do c\u00e2ncer humano e foi denominado de Oncopig.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">A intera\u00e7\u00e3o internacional do Laborat\u00f3rio de Biotecnologia do C\u00e2ncer do PPGB da UFPel tem proporcionado o intercambio de alunos para doutorado sanduiche e p\u00f3s-doutorado na University of Illinois e University of Missiuri. Atualmente egressos de nosso grupo de pesquisa j\u00e1 comp\u00f5em o quadro de pesquisadores Universidades americanas, o que demostra a qualifica\u00e7\u00e3o dos conhecimentos adquiridos na UFPel e o resultado das miss\u00f5es cientificas realizadas ao longo dos \u00faltimos 10 anos. Nosso papel \u00e9 criar oportunidades no campo da ci\u00eancia para que jovens talentos possam seguir na pesquisa, afirma o professor Tiago.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Nestes \u00faltimos 10 anos foram produzidas publica\u00e7\u00f5es em colabora\u00e7\u00e3o, resultado da forma\u00e7\u00e3o de doutores em biotecnologia na UFPel. O modelo Oncopig tem sido ampliado ao redor do mundo com utiliza\u00e7\u00e3o por outras universidades, centros de pesquisas e startups com o objetivo de aprimoramento do modelo.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Estamos propondo a pesquisa e o desenvolvimento do sistema denominado de <em>Oncopig Cell Biotech Screening<\/em>, que possa determinar um screening seguro, eficaz e confi\u00e1vel para tornar o f\u00e1rmaco\/droga eleg\u00edvel a estudos <em>in vivo<\/em> no modelo Oncopig. Espera-se que o sistema proposto possa permitir ensaios de supera\u00e7\u00e3o de resist\u00eancia, ensaios de combina\u00e7\u00e3o de drogas e quimioterapicos, ensaios de Drug Delivery por nanoestruturas, seletividade, dentre outros avan\u00e7os. Estes resultados fazem parte da tese de doutorado de Natalia Segatto em Biotecnoloiga da\u00a0 UFPel, que defender\u00e1 no m\u00eas de julho de 2022.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">As doutorandas Julia Paschoal e Isadora Lopes discutiram resultados e projetos, onde foram definidas a\u00e7\u00f5es para 2022 e 2023 relacionadas ao modelo Oncopig para c\u00e2ncer de bexiga utilizando tecnologia CRISPR-Cas9a, tendo a amplia\u00e7\u00e3o da colabora\u00e7\u00e3o a partir da participa\u00e7\u00e3o de grupos de pesquisadores europeus.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">A miss\u00e3o cientifica foi complementada com a participa\u00e7\u00e3o dos pesquisadores junto a University os Wisconsin-Madison, onde ocorreu a conferencia cientifica \u201cSwine in Biomedical Research Conference 2022 (SBR 2022)\u201d. \u00a0Os pesquisadores americanos Dr. Lawrence B. Schook, Ph.D., Dr. Kyle Schachtschneider, Ph.D., ambos da University of Illinois at Chicago e Dr. Dhanansayan Shanmuganayagam, Ph.D., da University of Wisconsin-Madison foram os organizadores da conferencia cient\u00edfica.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">A conferencia reuniu pesquisadores de universidades americanas, europeias e com participa\u00e7\u00e3o de pesquisadores e estudantes brasileiros. A professora Fabiana Seixas do PPGBiotecnologia da UFPel fez parte do comit\u00ea cientifico e session co-chair do encontro (<a style=\"color: #000000;\" href=\"https:\/\/sbr2022.org\/conference-committees\">https:\/\/sbr2022.org\/conference-committees<\/a>). A professora Fabiana, destaca a import\u00e2ncia da UFPel estar presente neste ecossistema \u00a0internacional de pesquisa e desenvolvimento tecnol\u00f3gico participando de discuss\u00f5es importantes para o futuro dos ensaios pr\u00e9-clinicos, em minipigs. Isso trar\u00e1 avan\u00e7os em outras \u00e1reas das ci\u00eancias da vida, afirma.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">As sess\u00f5es plen\u00e1rias trataram de temas na fronteira do conhecimento no desenvolvimento de minipigs para estudos biom\u00e9dicos e aplicados \u00e0 sa\u00fade humana. Os avan\u00e7os e desafios foram discutidos, tendo participa\u00e7\u00e3o da academia, setor produtivo (startups de biotecnologia, empresas ligadas a medicina de precis\u00e3o, biosci\u00eancias e Collares,\u00a0 estamos com os colaboradores mais qualificados do mundo dispostos a colaborar com avan\u00e7os importantes no desenvolvimento de modelos biol\u00f3gicos robustos no Brasil. Produzir este modelo no pa\u00eds abre caminho para que grupos de pesquisa, universidades, centros de investiga\u00e7\u00e3o, hospitais possam avan\u00e7ar em pesquisas translacionais.
