A doutoranda trabalhou no laborat\u00f3rio do professor Dr. Lars Eckmann localizado na Centro de Pesquisa Biom\u00e9dica 2, que \u00e9 parte da Faculdade de Medicina da UCSD. Sibele Borsuk. Mais especificamente, ela avaliou a amplitude do potencial de dois compostos sint\u00e9ticos para os quais j\u00e1 havia caracterizado atividade antiparasit\u00e1ria contra <em>Trichomonas vaginalis <\/em>(agente causador da doen\u00e7a) no artigo intitulado \u201cAntiparasitic activity of furanyl N-acylhydrazone derivatives against <em>Trichomonas vaginalis<\/em>: <em>in vitro<\/em> and <em>in silico <\/em>analyses\u201d publicado na revista Parasites &amp; Vectors (clique <span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff;\" href=\"https:\/\/parasitesandvectors.biomedcentral.com\/articles\/10.1186\/s13071-020-3923-8\">aqui<\/a><\/span>). Os resultados obtidos no exterior mostraram atividade promissora dos compostos em avalia\u00e7\u00f5es <em>in vitro<\/em>, nas quais os compostos foram efetivos contra isolados sens\u00edveis e resistentes ao f\u00e1rmaco padr\u00e3o para o tratamento. Os resultados obtidos <em>in vitro <\/em>e <em>in vivo<\/em> tamb\u00e9m foram promissores.
