{"id":684,"date":"2020-04-01T20:16:42","date_gmt":"2020-04-01T23:16:42","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/wp.ufpel.edu.br\/leae\/?page_id=684"},"modified":"2023-09-26T12:45:33","modified_gmt":"2023-09-26T15:45:33","slug":"research-areas","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/wp.ufpel.edu.br\/leae\/en\/research-areas\/","title":{"rendered":"Research areas"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span class=\"mceItemHidden\">The studies developed at <span class=\"hiddenSpellError\">LEAE<\/span> <span class=\"hiddenGrammarError\">are divided<\/span> into two major areas and two lines of research that complement each other:<\/span><\/p>\n<p>\u2013 Area I:\u00a0<strong>Environmental Engineering<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"mceItemHidden\">In the area of \u200b\u200bEnvironmental Engineering, studies <span class=\"hiddenGrammarError\">are carried<\/span> out in the\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"margin: 0px; padding: 0px; border: 0px; font-family: inherit; font-style: italic; line-height: inherit; vertical-align: baseline;\">Air Pollution research area.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>The\u00a0<span style=\"margin: 0px; padding: 0px; border: 0px; font-family: inherit; font-style: italic; line-height: inherit; vertical-align: baseline;\">Air Pollution<\/span><span class=\"mceItemHidden\">\u00a0research line,\u00a0<span class=\"hiddenSuggestion\">coordinated<\/span> by prof. <span class=\"hiddenSpellError\">Willian<\/span> <span class=\"hiddenSpellError\">Nadaleti<\/span>, focus on transport phenomena tools used to assess\u00a0pollutants dispersion in the air, in addition to control technologies and the use of alternative energy sources <span class=\"hiddenSuggestion\">in order to<\/span> reduce emissions of pollutants and greenhouse gases, such as CO2.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>\u2013 Area II:\u00a0<strong>Energy Engineering<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"mceItemHidden\">In the area of \u200b\u200bEnergy Engineering, the research coordinated by prof. Willian Nadaleti and by prof. Bruno Vieira focuses on the research line of\u00a0Renewable Energies and Energy Planning. Prof. Nadaleti develops techniques to improve biofuels and clean energy, such as hydrogen, use of waste (waste-to-energy) and\u00a0alternative sources of energy to generate electricity and heat, among others. Regional and <\/span><span class=\"mceItemHidden\">national energy planning studies (energy planning &amp; management) are also coordinated.
