Durante os 33 dias, os pesquisadores de varias institui\u00e7\u00f5es e diversas \u00e1reas ir\u00e3o realizar estudos relacionados a condi\u00e7\u00f5es clim\u00e1ticas, fauna e flora locais, entre outras. Em especial, o Professor Claudio Pereira juntamente com o grupo do professor Pio Colepiculo (USP) ir\u00e3o estudar as algas existentes no continente ant\u00e1rtico, dando continuidade em um projeto de Bioprospec\u00e7\u00e3o de Algas, dentre os dois grupos de pesquisa. Os resultados obtidos nessa expedi\u00e7\u00e3o ter\u00e3o uma enorme import\u00e2ncia no ponto de vista da ci\u00eancia e inova\u00e7\u00e3o na \u00e1rea de pesquisa de novos f\u00e1rmacos.
