\"\"I received the Ph.D. degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering<\/strong> from the University of Coimbra<\/a>, Portugal (2015), the M.Sc. degree in Computer Science<\/strong> from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul<\/a>, Brazil (2010) and the B.Sc. degree in Computer Science<\/strong> from the Federal University of Pelotas<\/a>, Brazil (2009).<\/p>\n

Since 2016, I am a professor with the Technology Development Center (CDTec)<\/a><\/strong> at the Federal University of Pelotas (UFPel)<\/a><\/strong>, Brazil. I am a supervisor in the Graduate Program in Computing (PPGC)<\/strong><\/a> and a CNPq Research Productivity Fellow Level 2 (PQ-2). <\/span>I have more than 15 years of experience in the field of visual signal processing, with my main activities focused on developing low-complexity and energy-efficient video coding solutions. I am the author of more than 150 scientific papers which received more than 1,700 citations, one book and two patent applications.<\/span><\/p>\n

I am a Senior Member of the IEEE, where I am affiliated with the IEEE Signal Processing Society (SPS), the IEEE Education Society (EdSoc), and the IEEE Circuits and Systems Society (CASS). In IEEE CASS, I serve as an elected member of the Multimedia Systems Applications Technical Committee (MSA-TC) since 2021, and as Chair of the IEEE CASS Rio Grande do Sul Chapter for the 2026-2027 term. I am also a member of the Brazilian Computer Society (SBC) and the Brazilian Microelectronics Society (SBMicro).<\/p>\n

My main research interests and expertise include:<\/strong><\/p>\n
