Federal do Rio Grande do Sul (1979), Bacharel em Fisica pela Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul (1979), mestrado em Engenharia El\u00e9trica &#8211; Microeletr\u00f4nica &#8211; Stanford University (1982) e doutorado em Engenharia El\u00e9trica na \u00e1rea de Microeletr\u00f4nica &#8211; Stanford University (1986).
