Entretanto, o laborat\u00f3rio tamb\u00e9m engloba alunos da gradua\u00e7\u00e3o estagiando na \u00e1rea, al\u00e9m de servir como apoio para execu\u00e7\u00e3o de experimentos de outros estudantes da Faculdade de Agronomia. O laborat\u00f3rio tem como principal objetivo capacitar os estudantes da gradua\u00e7\u00e3o e p\u00f3s-gradua\u00e7\u00e3o nos estudos de doen\u00e7as de plantas causadas por v\u00edrus, al\u00e9m de estudos relacionados a vetores de v\u00edrus.<\/p>\n<p>Recentemente, o laborat\u00f3rio tem desenvolvido pesquisas relacionadas \u00e0 caracteriza\u00e7\u00e3o molecular de v\u00edrus de DNA, que infectam a batata-doce, al\u00e9m de v\u00edrus que infectam o tomate. Al\u00e9m disso, o laborat\u00f3rio tamb\u00e9m trabalha com a aplica\u00e7\u00e3o de uma metodologia denominada LAMP-PCR, na identifica\u00e7\u00e3o de esp\u00e9cies de mosca-branca, que atuam como transmissoras de diversos v\u00edrus de plantas.
