O Festival Internacional de Videodan\u00e7a do RS \u2013 FIVRS 2021 \u2013 tem a honra de anunciar que realizar\u00e1 a premi\u00e9re brasileira da videodan\u00e7a Song of Songs (2020), de Douglas Rosenberg (Oregon, Wisconsin, USA), no dia 07 de setembro, \u00e0s 19h, pelo canal do I FIVRS no Youtube.<\/p>\n

Douglas Rosenberg Profile (Art \u2013 Video) \u00e9 artista, pesquisador, te\u00f3rico e professor que trabalha com videodan\u00e7a, performance e representa\u00e7\u00f5es interdisciplinares da performance. \u00c9 professor e decano do Departamento de Arte da Universidade de Wisconsin-Madison. Autor dos livros Screendance: Inscribing the Ephemeral Image (2021) e The Oxford Handbook of Screendance Studies (2016), e editor fundador do The International Journal of Screendance. Seus trabalhos de v\u00eddeo, instala\u00e7\u00e3o e performance v\u00eam sendo exibidos internacionalmente h\u00e1 mais de trinta anos, e j\u00e1 receberam o reconhecimento de v\u00e1rias institui\u00e7\u00f5es, como The Rockefeller Foundation, The Soros Foundation, MAP Fund em Nova York e o James D. Phelan Art Award in Video. As exibi\u00e7\u00f5es mais recentes de seu trabalho incluem a Limerick City Gallery of Art, na Esc\u00f3cia, o Lincoln Center, de Nova York e o Festival Cin\u00e9-Corps de Paris. Song of Songs \u00e9 seu trabalho mais recente.<\/p>\n

Song of Songs (2020, 20\u2032) \u00e9 uma evoca\u00e7\u00e3o profundamente pessoal do poema er\u00f3tico em prosa \u201cC\u00e2ntico dos C\u00e2nticos\u201d, do Antigo Testamento. Filmado em preto e branco com partitura original para violoncelo, evoca um espa\u00e7o cinematogr\u00e1fico contemplativo e austero. Song of songs transforma o ritual em arte perform\u00e1tica, para ser encantado, envolto e envolvido no sublime, no imaginado e no familiar.<\/p>\n
